Question by ABC: what is the best wood working glue?
okay i have a small problem, my laundry room has two swival doors that are on tracks. the doors have like these like lattice peices the peices sort of look like an accordion now somehow the frame on one side came off which i can place back in rather easily but those stupid square peices which look like rulers same length and width, keep falling out i have painstakingly placed them back but if you make one wrong move about 30 of the sons of b i t c h e s fall out all at once. i need a good no i need an awsome wood glue that would hold that s h i t like super glue so as i place each one in their slots i can glue the ends. HELP!
sorry forgot to mention i have tried elmers wood working glue and no soon as i closed the door all that s h i t came tumbbling down. so….”no soup for you” on the elmers crap. but thanks for the others i will try the gorilla glue.

Sorry I ever purchased this unit….nothing but trouble since the first day I got.
Don’t buy this machine….nothing but trouble since the day I purchased it. Too sensitive. If its not on problem its another.
The piece of wood can be 5 inches thick BUT you can only carve to the depth of the sharpened part of the bit which varies between bits but roughly 3/4 of an inch
Its stated that it has a 5 inch depth capacity, however the video shows a limited hight as far as bit clearance.
Whats the actual maximum height of clearance for wood working? Say 21/2 inch??
adam west?
OH MY GOD I’M GONNA BUY ONE!
Hey, good vid. Thanks for sharing.
I think it’s cool i do wood turning and im always looking for new ways to do it faster or better. This is a tool it won’t hurt your hobby or trade skill. If you want to do it the hand crafted way that’s fine too. Don’t let a machine scare you.

I don’t mean to sound like a complete jerk, so please don’t take this as harsh at it may sound.
I fail to understand why you do not consider a product from a person who owns one of these machines a piece of art… Just because a machine carves the final product? Does the user not create the item before it is carved?
I am sure there are many graphic artists that would argue that something they created on the computer and printed out would still be considered art.
what a piece of shit ive been carving for over 20 yrs professionally and self employed doing this craft you want to carve go buy some gouges and learn ooh by the way i own a printer does that make me a artist when a picture comes out crap!
mypassionss, you are one sad little man.
What? One word, coherence.
LOL… what a crap!This is for “sunday” do-it-yourself enthusiast,nothing more.
Is that Batman doing the voice over?
This is done by all companies. Just like your Gateway Computer is made by Jabil Circuits in St. Pete, Fla then shipped to Mexico.
The Sears CompuCarve is a rebranded CarveWright made by LHR Technologies Inc.
The CompuCarve is made by Sears Craftsman. Who makes this one?
If anybody would like to restore or repair a shopsmith you can still get parts at shopsmithparts, com This site has some of the more hard to find parts. They also sell atachments to convert to a metal lathe.
What kind of clamp is that?
Shopsmith 11″ Bandsaw is for sale online for $490. Beautiful unit, but that’s a hefty chunk of change.

nice work! I wish my band saw was that big. I will have to try this but on a smaller block of wood. Keep up the great woodworking!
Great Job !
Well done. I have and use that same band saw in my own shop. I bought it used at an auction about twelve years ago and it still works great. It has done alot of work for me, and Im glad that its one of my tools.
Nice beginning intro into woodworking, enjoyed watching. Thanks.
You’re an idiot. Table saw, jointer, planer, radial arm, router, miter saw, shaper, drum sander. All way more expensive than a descent band saw. So WTF are you talking about.
thanks ..excellent work hooray for you, melvin
Good initiative in creating a woodworking video. I would take an extra minute to address safeties for the bandsaw guard and safe disposal of the finish rag. It’s even good to show a little mistake, because you can explain if certain mistakes really matter or maybe even show how the project can be repaired.
Very informative, & excellent detail. Only wish the the pi was bigger. Thanks.
so the chunk taken out at the end could be made into another box. Then you could have a jewelry box in a box (in a box?). Kind of like those russian stacking toys.
Response to ulyssesyt – not true. The Shopsmith Bandsaw is one of the best power tools made specifically for woodworkers. Most bandsaws out there are metal cutting saws, adapted for woodworking. The Shopsmith Bandsaw was “designed” as a woodworkng bandsaw. Besides, Jewelry boxes can be made on ANY bandsaw and even scrollsaws!
once again, a wood project that requires one of the most expensive woodworking tools available.
Thanks – that is a neat little project. I wish I had a band saw.
thnx for the free video!
